Meet Paula
Community Development Specialist, Business Strategist, Life Coach and Grant Writer. Paula’s career in the Public sector, School Boards and NGO’s has given her vast and varied experience working within large and complex urban communities and interfacing with institutions and government agencies.
With over 20 years Community Development experience Paula’s leadership skills guided community agencies and various community collaboratives to build consensus and meet their common goals. Needs assessments uncovered strengths and deficiencies in the areas of focus. These findings were the basis for the development of several programs and projects, geared to building capacity for self-determination, advocacy and economic development. This was exemplified through the establishment of programs to support young mothers, empower youth and establish a community centre in a social housing complex. This community centre coalesced and empowered this community in Central Etobicoke.
Paula believes that organizations that do not adequately develop and communicate their values, vision, missions and goals or fail to develop relevant engagement strategies are ill-equipped to take advantage of business and funding opportunities presented to them. These organizations are often hindered by internal and external challenges that impede their goals.
Paula is a qualified social worker, certified life coach, communication expert and Change management specialist. She is passionate about finding latent potential and exploiting opportunities for development. This passion drove Paula to seek advanced training in Change Management, Business Analysis and Communication
